I drew this at a restaurant while we were waiting for pizza. The waitress grabbed the little book I drew this in and inspected several of the drawings. She told me about her friend who has a childrens book she would like to have illustrated. I could have explained to her that most (if not all) publishers don't want unsolicited manuscripts submitted with illustrations from people they have never heard of, but most people don't like that answer. I also didn't explain to her that I would have populated her friend's story with hoboes, ducks smoking cigars, and cryptic references to intergalactic space travel. Most people don't like that answer either. I forgot to give her my card before we left.
