Illustration Description
Bob Brains-in-a-Jar got hooked on 'shine and lost a promising career as a chanteuse. He doesn't appreciate that his Golden Lab, Lady Day, still cares for him. But lately she has had this passage running through her brain: 'He finally just drank...and every time I see him put the bottle [i.e. "jar"] to his mouth he don't suck out of it, it sucks out of him until he's shrunk so wrinkled and yellow even the dogs don't know him.' ("One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" Ken Kesey, 1962)
